ABOUT ME

My name is Stephen and this is my son Reuben. In late 2014 my wife and I decided that one of us should be home to look after this little one as a precaution, he had given us a little scare when he was about three months old. So I quit my job and became a tutor, working from home, which allowed me to carry on doing what I loved with a huge amount of flexibility and ultimately be around whilst my wife went back to work so that we could afford to eat!

Tutoring is pretty seasonal however, and not one to sit of my bum, much, I decided there must be something I could do to generate income over the summer months and other holidays. I have always been quite handy and a lover of tools, breaking and making my own things and this has encouraged me to develop these skills further. I now make beautiful things for other people. I have adapted cupboards, bedside tables, dressers, to name but a few, in the past for our own home and have decided to try and develop this into a business. Alongside this I have also developed an interest in items designed for toddlers and children and have adapted as well as creating my own designs to make furniture for toddlers including child sized outdoor furniture and sand boxes.
